Most people don’t know or care who I am, but they try to tell me what to do.
And the reason is their selfishness – they need something valuable to them, but they project the obligation to deliver it onto me. So they conveniently forget to ask me if I agree.
This seems to happen quite often in the world as it is today. At least in my world. But the joke is that when I say “no” they accuse me of being selfish, toxic, or narcissistic.
Because they will do anything they can to force me to give them what they want.
Building a healthy ego is part of the individuation process, but no one says when it’s overblown and becomes arrogance.
As far as many of us are concerned, that’s exactly what it is: an arrogant assumption that we are superior to others and that they owe us something. If we have achieved confidence in one area of life, we mistakenly assume that we are already better in all areas of life. Haha 🙂
The good news is that this is just a stage in the ego development process, but no one can tell you when or if this stage will be overcome by any individual.
