I experience it many times every day. I receive the next spam email from a stranger. This person is halfway around the world and has somehow gotten hold of my email. Does he care about me ? Asking for water and the flight attendant at the Philippine airline tells me they don’t accept card payments. Do they care about me ? When my so-called girlfriend contacts me only when she needs something else. Does she care about me ? The American tech giant sends me an email. They try to force me to read their latest 50-page policy update immediately. I must confirm it; otherwise, I won’t be able to use their services. Do they really care about me ? Like that scooter driver in Bali honking and shouting at me to get my attention. Then he offers me transportation. Does he care about me ? Or that smiling girls outside the massage parlor in Vietnam, seeking my gaze to offer me a massage. Do they really care about me ? I order soup in China and they bring me a large bowl for 4. They see that I’m alone. Do they care about me? Or when the British bank asks me to wait 35 minutes on hold during an international phone call. Do they care about me ? In Bulgaria I sit in a restaurant by the sea. No one knows me there. I wait 40 minutes for the waiter to come. Do they care about me ? In Romania by night someone drives outside the city without lights. Do they care about me or even themselves ?
It’s not about the place in the world. And it’s not about me at all.
People think about themselves first and that’s good. Or don’t think at all which is not that much good.
The reality is that apparently most people don’t think about the others at all. Even when they claim to be customer-oriented.
This is the big lie in every service business and in human relationships at all. Thinking that what is convenient for you is what the other wants.
Actually nobody cares about me, because how can they care for me if they don’t know me deeper ?

I think some of us care about people we don’t know on a deeper level…nurses, doctors, kind people…if someone had fallen in the street would one walk past because they don’t know them or would one help a stranger?…I think we are 50/50 some would walk on, some would help, I would help and I would care…that’s why I had a low profit photography business ha ha i was the worst sales person…I agree that in business most people just want the sale!

It depends on the person, right ? Do you sometimes feel like you’re more caring towards others than towards yourself?
