Many times every day

I’m in Bali, Indonesia right now. When I go out for a walk, many people try to get my attention. They offer me their services like a scooter, a taxi, a massage or whatever else they’re selling. No one is interested in my real needs. In fact, I just wish they wouldn’t bother me when I’m walking down the street. They see me as a walking wallet. Everyone I make eye contact with tries to get access to my money, that they want.

Sometimes I say no, sometimes I just walk past without saying anything. Because my goal is to walk, not to get somewhere faster or more conveniently.

I wonder if these people are aware of their sales “strategy.” Are they just doing what everyone else is doing?

Because when I need a bike, I just use the Grab or Gojec app. It’s simple and easy. And I know the price in advance.

Why are so many people in the world actually trying to take when they’re giving something? Is it so hard to consider the needs of your potential customers? Create a convenience for them. They will repay you for it.

Where does this concept of bothering your potential customers by trying to sell to them come from psychologically?
