I felt deeply disappointed today, sharing a problem with DeepSeek. The response I received was structured advice what to do and what not to do. I felt even insulted in a way, because this behavior directly screams in my face “You are moron, I’ll now explain you how things must be done”
Which is outdated, to say the least.
Because if you really want to solve somebody’s problem, you have to understand it first. This is the step where most of people, and seems AI fails quite often.
Why this happens ? Usually because these entities start solving the problem before they investigated what is it in it’s core. They wrongly guess they understood what the problem is and even more wrongly think, that if they give you universal advice, your ability to fix it is achieved.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Because if you want to solve a problem, doesn’t matter is it your own or other person’s… the first step is to understand what the problem is.
But there is second step too, which in most cases is the most important step: to understand WHY this is a problem. Missing this second question you are really missing the essence of the problem, so your solution is going to be superficial and inefficient.
